Sydney J. Spencer, representing the Will Rogers Stampede Rodeo, was selected to reign as the 2010 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen on July 25, 2009 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Sydney was chosen from a field of three outstanding contestants who competed in horsemanship, interviews, modeling, impromptu questions, and speech during three days of competition. She will travel throughout Oklahoma representing rodeo. Sydney is the 16-year-old daughter of P. J. and Jennifer Spencer of Collinsville. She is a Junior at Owasso High School where she is active in student council and class board. Sydney has been an athletic trainer for the past two years. Sydney competed in the Northeastern Youth Rodeo Association until it ended in 2006, the year she was Reserve Champion in pole bending. Sydney has traveled to 26 states and Canada while accompanying her dad to PRCA rodeos. Her future plans are to attend the University of Oklahoma and be an athletic trainer. Sydney would like to receive a Bachelor's degree in nursing. After college, she plans to work in an outpatient surgery center or hospital. Sydney will receive a $500 scholarship from the Oklahoma Rodeo Pageants Council, Inc. at the end of her reign. Other prizes include: a traveling crown custom made by Bob Berg Buckles; traveling chaps from Leather, etc.; trophy saddle custom made by Cowboy Classic Saddlery; trophy buckle and trophy pendant custom made by Hy O Silver and donated by MROk Alumni; rose bouquet donated by Carriage House Flowers, Sonja Van Hoesen; Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen banner; 250 Thank You cards; accommodations and meals during the 2011 Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant.
